First Look – Hammock Gear Incubator 40 Underquilt

Unboxing my new hammock underquilt, the Hammock Gear Incubator 40 Under Quilt.

This is just a quick look the latest addition to my hammock camping gear list. I plan to take this down under quilt on my next multi-day backpacking trip video, so look for more to follow!

  1. Sintax77,
I have been a fan of your videos for a while now but just registered for your site. I just wanted to ask how much does your average summertime backpack weight for an overnight trip.(just one night)
And where on this site can you ask a question, or does it just have to be a comment on a video.
    Thanks in advance!

    • Hi Matt,

My summertime base weight is typically between 11 and 14 pounds depending on the forecast and region. For instance, a warm weather forecast with minimal rain predicted, hiking solo – I might have 11 to 12 pounds. But for a recent trip with a friend where decent rain was predicted every afternoon, I happily hauled another couple pounds so that I could have rain gear and an extra large tarp for us to hang out under at camp each night. I guess I would say my average was around 13 pounds base weight at this point, but it kind of evolves constantly.

Oh, and feel free to post and ask questions wherever you want!
